The oral features of nurse sharks 🦈 have a lot of crucial roles to play… While many other sharks 🦈 must swim all the time to breath, nurse sharks 🦈 uses their oral muscles to pull water into their mouths to oxygenate their gills. This is called the buccal pumping. They also use their strong jaw and oral mussels to crush and eat shellfish and even coral.
